
Schuyla (sky-la) Goodson Jeanniton serves as Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer at John Deere, Inc., where she leads the company’s global compliance functions and oversees global compliance training, monitoring, and reporting processes worldwide. Schuyla joined John Deere with 30 years of experience in the public and private sectors. Her career spans work across Africa, Asia, and the Americas in business, legal, and human resources. She has practiced law in government, private practice, and in-house for two corporations. She most recently served as executive director, ethics, compliance, investigations, and right environment for Cummins Inc. In that role, she was responsible for ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements, as well as company policies and processes. Her work included managing the company’s enterprise-wide compliance program, focusing on identifying, detecting and mitigating risk in support of business priorities. Schuyla spent 11 years in Johannesburg, South Africa, in numerous roles for both The Coca-Cola Company and, later, Cummins Inc. During her work with Coca-Cola, she held several positions, including legal director, group intellectual property counsel, and legal advisor to the Coca-Cola Africa Foundation. She serves on the board of directors for Shared Interest, a nonprofit organization that works to advance economic, racial, and gender justice in Southern Africa. Throughout her career, she has actively participated in various corporate responsibility initiatives aimed at supporting vulnerable youth and women. Schuyla holds a Bachelor of Arts from Spelman College and a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center.
